Find Yourself Field Trip: Worcester Art Museum

Do you remember what it used to feel like when you were a kid, going on a field trip instead of sitting in a classroom?  Yeah. Let's do that. 

We all think of art and artists as being so precise, so perfect. But... my favorite art is a TOTAL MESS. And once you start to find the FREEDOM in art-making, you start to realize that is't not stuffy or perfect AT ALL. It's emotional and it's messy and THAT'S what makes it beautiful. 

Come dive into MY favorite kind of art. The messy, surprising, and exciting world of mixed media. Don't know what that means? Great. Not being stuck in preconcieved notions of what it's "supposed to be" is basically the point. 

We'll start by checking out two of the museum's larger than life exhibits: Nevena Prijic - Voyager and Brie Ruais - Uncontrollable Drifting... to better understand that art can be ANYTHING and that you're allowed to express yourself in BIG ways. Then we'll head over to the temporary exhibit of painter Jakob Fioole. Take in the inspiration. See how he plays with colors, shapes, and literal vs. abstraction and THEN join me in the courtyard where we'll explore our own Fioole inspired artwork by mixing collage and oil pastels. I promise, it'll be fun and totally unintimidating. Make art where art lives. You'll be amazed by how much of a confidence boost this is. 

BONUS - I'll be heading to a local restaurant for food after this event. Come and join me to talk about our shared experience and how it fits into growing your brand!!

Meet me in the lobby of the Lancaster St entrance. Free parking is available at several lots around the museum (the Lancaster Lot and the Salisbury Lot)
